Go to Systeme.io and sign up for the free plan. You'll land on your dashboard. Take 2 minutes to explore — you'll see sections for Funnels, Emails, Courses, Blogs, and Contacts.
Click Funnels → Create Funnel. Name it "My First Lead Magnet." Choose the "Lead Magnet" template. Systeme.io creates a 3-step funnel: opt-in page, thank-you page, and a sales page (optional — you can remove it).
Click on the opt-in page to open the editor. Edit the headline (e.g., "Free Checklist: 10 Ways to Grow Your Email List"). Add 3–5 bullet points of what they'll get. The email form is already connected — no setup needed.
Go to Files → Upload and upload your lead magnet (PDF, checklist, template, etc.). Copy the file URL. You'll use this in your welcome email.
Go to Emails → Automations → Create Automation. Set the trigger: "When a contact subscribes to My First Lead Magnet." Add an email step. Write a short welcome email: thank them, include the freebie download link, and tell them what to expect next.
Go back to your funnel and click the thank-you page. Edit it to say: "Check your inbox! Your [freebie name] is on its way." Optionally, add a link to a relevant blog post or your social media.
Click Publish. Copy your funnel URL. Open it in an incognito window, enter a test email, and verify: the thank-you page loads, the welcome email arrives, and the freebie link works.
Your first funnel is now collecting emails and delivering your freebie automatically. Share the link on social media, in your email signature, or on your blog.
